
Faroese Thor's Hammer
One of the best-known symbols of Norse mythology, the Norse god of thunder. In addition to being worn as a symbol of strength and protection, the Thor's hammer was frequently used in ceremonial blessings.
Based on a Viking age find from the Faroe Islands, Norse settlements in the Faroe Islands can be traced back to sometime between the 9th and 10th centuries.
